I have some exciting news I’ve been waiting to share with you! My new photography studio rental in Pittsburgh, Studio Manor, recently opened in November 2022! An inaugural branding session with the talented content creator @its.kasie was the perfect way to break it in! Be sure to check Kasie out—her content is fabulously addictive! You can shop her look on LTK, too! Working with a great model (and friend) was the cherry on top of my grand opening.
As a photographer, I often found myself looking for beautifully curated studios with great light for boudoir, lifestyle, and branding sessions. So, I decided to style my own!
I wanted a studio space that checked all the boxes for studio essentials and meshed with my photography style. I’m a bit of a minimalist, and I love a clean, modern space. Clean white walls, 16-foot ceilings, and large, black-framed windows were a must!
However, I lean more toward a “transitional design,” so I added a few soft elements for warmth and comfort. I polished the look with a few dark lines and neutral accents that work with just about any session. Sprinkle in some greenery and neutral-toned textural elements, such as throw pillows, blankets, and furniture, and it’s perfect!
Located in charming Dormont near downtown Pittsburgh, Studio Manor is a rentable studio that serves as a versatile canvas and private space for photographers.

Wondering which kinds of photography sessions warrant a studio? Honestly, you can create just about anything here! It’s a safe, private, weather-proof space to be yourself and create art with your clients. You don’t have to worry about onlookers, and wardrobe changes are a cinch, saving you time. Consider booking the studio for one of these sessions:
There’s a hanging rack, changing area, restroom, and thermostat to help your client feel at ease and comfortable in this private studio. Opaque curtains allow you to create extra privacy without limiting your natural light. Plus, there’s a bed and other furniture available for posing.
Kasie’s branding session with me is a great example of the kinds of polished photos you can create for personal branding. Play with props, lighting, and outfits to help your client stylize images that fit their brand. This studio is fantastic for a bright, clean look.
Help your clients update their professional photos with studio headshots. There are several neutral backdrop options available as well.
I love using the studio for couples, family, and lifestyle sessions because the consistent light and solid backdrops really help to highlight facial features, emotions, and personalities. The focal point is always the people with few background distractions. Studio sessions are ideal for clients who want classic, timeless wall art and prints. It works with any décor, color palette, and season. Studio sessions make beautiful albums and photo books!
If your client wants a lifestyle session without having to clean up and re-decorate their house, this studio is a great alternative!
Going out and about for a photo session can be challenging for some families with little ones. This cozy studio (with a bathroom and lounging areas!) works well for newborn sessions, milestone portraits, themed birthday photos, children’s portraits, and more.
Use this space to get creative! Don some high-fashion runway attire for compositions that belong in Vogue. Kasie’s session definitely had some studio editorial vibes going on, and I can’t wait to see how she uses them!
And finally, maybe you just need some space (that’s not your living room) to practice new photography skills and continuing education. Rent this quiet space (or crank up the Bluetooth speaker) to let your creativity flow. Sometimes a change in scenery can make all the difference when we’re stuck in a rut. Let this be your happy place to create!
