Downtown Pittsburgh Wedding Venue | Wintergarden Black & White Wedding

PPG Place in downtown Pittsburgh has become a popular spot for couples to take engagement and wedding photos—and for good reason! The towering black-glass buildings and clean geometric lines lend themselves to spectacular portraits. Brittany and Noah opted to have their wedding day at Wintergarden at PPG Place in May, and it was nothing short of extraordinary!

After getting ready with their crew, the two took a moment for themselves with a romantic urban first look. I live for moments like these: the soft shoulder tap, the eager turn, and the sheer look of love and surprise when they see each other face-to-face.

This is why I always carry tissues in my camera bag. I will never get used to these blissful flashes of emotion and authentic connections. It looks different for every couple, and it’s truly an honor to be able to document these priceless moments for them.

From first look to newlywed send off, Brittany and Noah’s wedding day was pure perfection, and I hope you enjoy this sneak peek into their day! Wondering if Wintergarden is the right venue for you? Continue on for a quick venue overview. And don’t hesitate to reach out for more info. I am currently booking weddings for 2023, and I have a few spots left for couple’s and engagement sessions in 2022.

What is a wintergarden?

I know you were thinking it! Despite the name, this venue is available and in-bloom all year! Typically, a wintergarden is a large glass-enclosed garden where plants can grow year-round. I like to think of it as an extra-large luxury greenhouse.

The glasshouse creates a gorgeous snow-globe atmosphere. You have the outdoor ambiance, but the climate control makes it comfortable in every season. The Pittsburgh Wintergarden is expecially unique in that you get a natural, lush garden backdrop against the urban cityscape. The complementary contrast is breathtaking, and you’re sure to get one-of-a-kind wedding portraits at this unique location.

Wintergarden Wedding Packages

Wintergarden can almost be considered an all-inclusive venue. You will just need to provide entertainment or DJ, additional décor and design items or floral arrangements, and wedding cake. Their fantastic wedding team will take care of all of the big items.

Wintergarden wedding packages include:

  • Wedding party dressing rooms
  • Elevated ceremony platform
  • Linens, tables, and chairs
  • Built-in chic white décor and botanical elements (you can add more if you prefer)
  • Personalized food & beverage menu
  • Service style options (hors d’oeuvres or plated dinner)
  • Set-up & Take-down service
  • Day-after brunch (optional)

Perks of PPG Wintergarden Weddings

One of the thing I (and most couples) love most about this downtown Pittsburgh wedding venue is the versatility. Unlike most venues, the Wintergarden can comfortably host up to 400 guests for a cocktail reception and 300 for a seated dinner! The venue offers smaller setups for more intimate weddings as well. The overflowing greenery means less work in the floral department for you. Plus, the botanicals servce as built-in décor that pairs well with almost any color scheme or wedding design. The team is a dream to work with, and you can rest assured they will fulfill your wedding vision—and then some!
