A pondside ceremony with swan cameos, a five-tier cake topped with bright red cherries, and a saxophonist helping turn the reception into a full-on dance party? Kait and Dave’s summer wedding had so much to love. Their Gervasi Vineyard wedding brought together bridal glamour, bold flowers, and a celebration with plenty of reasons to stay on the dance floor.
With Savvy Jane Planning on their vendor team, the couple paired an Italian-style setting with playful, personal details. White and red carried throughout the design, from the flowers to the cake, while a Pittsburgh cookie table brought a familiar tradition to Canton, Ohio. I loved how the day made room for both beautiful portraits and all the movement and energy of a wedding that people came ready to celebrate.

Gervasi Vineyard Resort & Spa offers a lovely mix of water, greenery, and Italian-inspired architecture. Its signature Pavilion is an open-air wedding venue beside the lake and vineyard, giving couples a covered reception space that still feels connected to the grounds (gervasivineyard.com).
For Kait and Dave, that setting became part of the story from the ceremony onward. They exchanged vows by the pond, with trumpeter swans throwing in some cute photobombs along the way. You plan some wedding details for months; others wander into the frame on their own—literally.
If you’re drawn to an outdoor wedding, think about which parts of the setting you want to experience throughout the day. A ceremony near the water and an open-air reception can give each part its own atmosphere while keeping that outdoorsy summer feel.

Kait’s bridal look fit right into the celebration’s glamorous side. Her gown came from Bridal Beginning, featuring a head-turning princess skirt and side slit, with makeup by Makeup by Claud and a hair team that included Jess Zegarelliand Rachael Laquatra. Together, the fashion and beauty details complemented a day with plenty of visual personality.
Flowers by Nikki’s Perfect Petal Designs played a big role. Red dahlias brought rich color and beautifully layered petals, while a variety of white blooms kept the arrangements feeling bridal. Draping red amaranthus added movement and a looser shape.
I especially loved the balance between the clean palette and all that texture. Red and white can make a strong statement without needing a long list of accent colors. Here, the blooms’ variety added depth, and the trailing amaranthus made the arrangements feel expressive.
For couples gathering floral inspiration, this is a gorgeous example of why shape matters as much as color. Share the elements you’re drawn to with your florist: the fullness of a dahlia, a cascading stem, or the contrast between white petals and a deeper red. Those specifics help communicate what you love.

Kait and Dave’s reception details carried that same mix of glamour and fun. A citrus spritz “champagne” tower became a celebratory focal point, while their five-tier white wedding cake from Any Way You Ice It added a bold finishing touch: bright red cherries.
The cake tied into the palette so naturally. Its white tiers let the cherries stand out, repeating the red-and-white combination in a fresh, playful way. It was a statement dessert with personality, and such a fun detail to photograph.
Then came the Pittsburgh cookie table. Even at an Ohio vineyard wedding, this beloved tradition had a place in the celebration. Alongside the towering cake and champagne, it added a familiar, welcoming touch.
If you’re deciding which traditions to include in your wedding, keep the ones you’re excited to share. A favorite regional tradition can sit comfortably alongside a more formal design. Kait and Dave’s reception is such good inspiration for bringing those pieces together.

As beautiful as the details were, the party deserves its own mention. Kait and Dave celebrated under the Pavilion with a live band, a saxophonist, and a lively dance floor. Cleveland Keys was part of their entertainment lineup, and music was clearly a big part of the reception.
I love when a wedding gallery gets to hold both sides of a day: the carefully chosen flowers and bridal portraits, then the movement and expressions that come with everyone letting loose. The reception gives the photographs a different rhythm, and this celebration had plenty of energy to work with.
For couples planning a Gervasi Vineyard wedding, take inspiration from more than the color palette. Think about how you want the evening to feel. Kait and Dave made space for a beautiful setting, familiar traditions, and a party that became a highlight of the day.
