The colors, the fashion, the venue—and most importantly, the couple—made this one of my favorite weddings to photograph to date! What a time to be a wedding photographer. The originality of each couple I meet is incredible, which means I get to dig deep into my creativity well, too! While I have my signature photography style, each couple adds their own spin and touch of magic that makes every wedding day so unique. Payton and Lucas had all of that in spades in their Sewickley Quarter wedding day!
First off, let’s talk about the allure of Sewickley Quarter. Nestled in the heart of Sewickley, this venue is like stepping into a romantic French Quarter-inspired fairytale. With sunlight flooding the space, bursts of greenery, and an intimate courtyard, it’s a dreamy gem perfect for any couple looking for a scenic, storybook setting. The venue is full of eclectic nooks and crannies, each begging to be the backdrop for a memorable photo.
But before we dive deeper into the venue, can we take a moment to appreciate Payton’s wedding dress from Harper & Ivory Bridal? It was something out of a dream. The layered tiers cascading into a dramatic train left me speechless when she did her first twirl. It was different, chic, elegant, and so uniquely Payton! She looked radiant, and Lucas was the perfect match in style and charm. I loved capturing the connection between them. They may have met in a bar, but their chemistry is undeniable—these two are meant to be!
After their first look and intimate vow exchange, they had a gloriously sunny day to stroll around the district and venue, pausing in front of trailing ivy walls, garden gates, and red-brick buildings. Taking time out during your day to be together, just the two of you, is an absolute must. The day will fly by, and it’s so important to savor it together–and maybe strike a pose while you’re at it. (It’s much easier to do portraits away from the crowd, and couple’s portraits will allow you to ‘warm up’ a bit.)
When it came time for wedding party and family portraits, I was blown away by the creativity and style. I love the modern black-and-white theme, and Payton proved that white bridesmaid dresses absolutely work! These ladies rocked their white dress styles, and Payton still dazzled us all with her statement gown. Even the guests matched the theme, making the experience and the photos all that more fun.
Sewickley Quarter’s charm doesn’t end with its gorgeous garden setting. As an all-inclusive venue, they cover everything from premium rentals and tenting to wedding planning. Couples can enjoy their day without a hitch, knowing every detail is handled.
The venue also doubles as a restaurant. You can select chef-inspired dishes for a customized wedding menu. And for a refreshing twist, Sidecar, the decorated cocktail space, offers windowed access to the main event area, perfect for sipping delicious, handcrafted cocktails. Guests can spread out without feeling like they’re missing out.
Beyond the ceremony and reception space, the venue’s green gardens and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces provide idyllic backdrops for both ceremonies and photoshoots–even bridal showers and rehearsal dinners–capturing memories that will last forever.
With their passionate and dedicated team, I can attest that every moment at Sewickley Quarter is orchestrated to ensure a seamless, stress-free celebration. From intimate gatherings to all-out affairs, this versatile venue transforms dreams into reality, making every wedding as unique as the love stories it celebrates.
From the layered elegance of Payton’s dress to the sun-drenched beauty of Sewickley Quarter, this wedding was nothing short of magical. Payton and Lucas, your chemistry, style, and love made this a dream wedding to capture. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!
If you’re looking for a unique, intimate venue that offers everything you need for a stress-free, beautiful wedding day, Sewickley Quarter is the place to be. Here’s to many more magical moments and unforgettable weddings!
